A little later than promised (yes, we engineering educators also need better time management skills), an update on the progress of the handbook. In this update:

-              Submissions update

-              We have a publisher!

-              Changes to the editorial team

-              Next Time

Submission Update

The submission deadline for the expression of interest passed in December. We were overwhelmed by the high number of submissions, with great team submissions and wonderful, capable individuals who volunteered to contribute. Overall, we received more than 110 submissions from more than 200 people. We are currently working diligently through all submissions to come to proposed author teams for each chapter. We are still on schedule to send out notifications for acceptance by 31 January!

We have a Publisher!

In addition, we also have some news from the publishing front. Although the first invited chapters are only just starting to take shape, we have secured a Publisher. We are delighted to inform you that the handbook will be published with TU Delft OPEN Publishing (https://www.tudelft.nl/library/actuele-themas/open-publishing) in their Education Series under a CC-BY Creative Commons License allowing all authors to keep their copyright and for everyone to be able to read the handbook for free. A printed version will be available at cost through their printing-on-demand service. We are delighted with this collaboration!

Changes to the editorial team.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Esther Perea Borobio has had to step back as part of the editor-in-chief team but thankfully Thies Johanssen was willing to step in. Also, we reinforced the part 2 editorial team of the handbook with Matteo di Benedetti from the University of Sheffield. The new composition of the editorial teams is:
